When wiring your own alarm system, make sure to include additional horns where you can. The louder it is, the more likely the guy won't take the time to find all the horns and clip them to silence the car.

Is it very difficult to add in more horns without disturbing the system itself? I know that messing with the alarm can be dangerous sometimes, is this a consideration when installing new horns?

I really don't think it's dangerous. But if you want to add more horns or make it more sensitive, you better have a garage. Otherwise, your neighbors might do something strange and unusual to your car lol.

but does it really make a difference? I know I don't pay much attention to car alarms anymore due to them going off all the time with people having such high sensitivity...

I think we have to make noise only when we have to. Otherwise, nobody can hear the real alarm and everybody will be immune to all the noise and there might be no more help coming in times when a real emergency is there.

ah, but that's what I mean - plenty of punks set their car alrms to the highest sensitivity so even passing by with a heavy step can set it off - and thus the public becomes de-sensitived ( ) to the car alarms and it becomes worthless... |
