Car manufacturers use the same platforms, engines, and other things. What about wiring diagrams?

The diagrams, as far as the symbols used will usually be the same, especially if you are just talking about American cars or just Japanese cars. Cars that are made in the same country will use the same symbols. As far as teh same exact diagram, no. Because the cars are different they will have different diagrams. Although, cars like the Taurus and Sable, the Explorer and the same model made by Mercury (I can't recall the name right now), will have the same exact diagrams because they really are the same exact car.
